Do doctors (Man) really heal or the God heals?

Doctors Treat. God Heals. Doctors are great, aren’t they? We trust doctors when our child gets sick, our mother gets sick, or even when we get sick. We trust that they can prescribe something to make us feel better and they normally succeed! But, what happens when they give us the news that what has happened or the sickness we are dealing with is beyond the work of their hands? Do we crumble saying it is hopeless, or do we prevail saying, “I know my doctor knows his/her stuff, but thankfully, I know the Great Physician who created my body to function. I know the Creator who forms the human body effortlessly over and over again!” There is a great saying that says, “Doctors treat but God heals.” If only we could grasp this fact for real. It seems a lot of us are guilty of putting all of our trust and hopes in what the doctor says. You see, science says that the condition is permanent or science may not have a cure for that sickness or disease. But friends, what makes us think that God can’t fix what the devil tried to attack when He is the one who created our bodies? Jesus didn’t just die on the cross for our sins; He died on the cross for our sins, sickness, disease, and wounds. The healing is already ours. All we have to do is believe it, seek it, and declare it. Don’t be defeated by mere words. The devil wants you to think that what you are dealing with is permanent or incurable. The devil wants you to think you are already defeated. He doesn’t want you to realize that Jesus already took care of that sickness, disease, or condition for you. Don’t get me wrong, we take Miles to the doctor a lot and we appreciate each one of them very much! But, when what science says does not line up with what God’s word says, we choose to believe God. We purposefully chose not to believe our son’s diagnosis of brain damage as being permanent. God created his brain once, the devil tried to attack it, and by faith, God creates it fully again. The mystery I do not understand is this: At what point did the devil win? At what point did people start believing that healing wasn’t theirs? At what point did these specific diagnoses become “permanent”? The bible says Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So, what that tells me is, what He did for the man with leprosy, what He did for the woman with blood issues, what He did for the paralytic, what He did for the man with the withered hand, what He did for the blind, what He did for the lame, He can do for us! And that is just to name a few! So, you say, “well, Jesus was on the earth when all that happened.” What about after Jesus ascended and He used Peter to heal many sick people in the streets of Jerusalem? Or, what about when Paul laid hands on the father of the chief official of the island and he was healed? That was after Jesus had risen, too …This is just so exciting to me! Healing is ours! Miles doesn’t have to live like he is now because he owns full restoration. What the devil stole from him, he must return! Praise God for a gentle, powerful, compassionate God! So, back to my point – Doctors are awesome, but just remember that if what science tells us does not line up with the Word, let’s choose to believe and trust in God. After all, we place our WHOLE lives in his hands, do we not? :) John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full. Mark 12:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Matthew 8:2-3 A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleaned of his leprosy. Matthew 9:20-22 Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.” Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed at that moment. Matthew 9:6-8 …So he said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and go home.” Then the man got up and went home. When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to man. Luke 6:6 ,10 On another Sabbath he went into the synagogue and was teaching, and a man was there whose right hand was shriveled… He looked around at them all, and then said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He did so, and his hand was completely restored. John 9:11 He replied, “The man they call Jesus made some mud and put in on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see.” John 5:3-6,8 Crowds of sick people – blind, lame or paralyzed-lay on the porches. One of the men lying there had been sick for 38 years. When Jesus saw him and knew he had been ill for a long time, he asked him, “Would you like to get well?” … Jesus told him, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!” Acts 5:15-16 As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by. Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by impure spirits, and all of them were healed. Acts 28:7-8 There was an estate nearby that belonged to Publius, the chief official of the island. He welcomed us to his home and showed us generous hospitality for three days. His father was sick in bed, suffering from fever and dysentery. Paul went in to see him and, after prayer, placed his hands on him and healed him.
