God will choose many ways to Heal

By: Shaila Touchton | April 12, 2017 God does not work the same method each time He heals someone. Naaman was instructed to bath in the Jordan river seven times. These instructions offended him and made him furious. Jesus twice used his spit to heal people. Naaman’s pride arose. He was used to people bowing and serving to him but he did not even meet Elisha only his servant. Gradually he saw reason and then was obedient to Elisha command and was healed. His obedience and submission opened the door for his healing. 1. Asking in the name of Jesus. John 16:23 in the Amplified Bible says: “In that day you will not [need to] ask Me about anything. I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name [as My representative], He will give you.” There is power in the name of Jesus. . .there’s deliverance in the name of Jesus and there’s healing in the name of Jesus. When Peter and John encountered the lame man at the gate of the temple which is called beautiful. . .healing virtue was released through the name of Jesus. Acts 3:3-9 says: “Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. 4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. 5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. 7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. 9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God.” Peter created expectation in the man when he said “silver and gold have I none but such as I have give I thee.” When Peter said “in the name of Jesus” he was loosing the supernatural power of God in one word. . .Jesus. The man was not healed in the name of Peter or in the name of John. . .he was healed in the name of Jesus. How are all miracles manifested? Acts 4:30 in the Amplified Bible says: “While You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders (attesting miracles) take place through the name [and the authority and power] of Your holy Servant and Son Jesus.” 2. Laying on of hands. Not only is there a Biblical doctrine of laying on of hands but the scripture is very specific about how we’re to approach this matter. Hebrews 6:2 in the Amplified Bible says: “Of teaching about washings (ritual purifications), the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. [These are all important matters in which you should have been proficient long ago.]” Hebrews 6:2. . .the scripture says that YOU should be proficient in the laying on of hands. It doesn’t just say. . .the pastors, evangelists, elders or any other named group. . .it says YOU. . .that’s you and me. . .must be proficient in the laying on of hands. How do you become proficient at something. . .by doing it. God also wants us to clearly understand and visualize how we can touch people’s lives through our hands. The scriptures are filled with miracles performed simply through the laying on of hands as a point of contact. When God looks at our hands, He sees unlimited potential for blessings, miracles, and prosperity. We have that authority as believers! John 3:35 says: “The Father loved the son and placed everything in his hands.” When the soldiers came to take Jesus captive in the Garden of Gethsemane, the first thing they did was to bind His hands. Why? . . .those hands had made mud, placed it on the eyes of a blind man that allowed him to instantly see. . . .those hands took the five loaves and two fishes from a young lad and fed a multitude of people. . . .those hands had been a point of contact for a great host of people who found His healing touch brought instant relief to their sick and suffering bodies. . . .those hands had resurrection power – AND so do yours. John 14:12 says: “He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” Proverbs 3:27 says: “Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of THINE HAND to do it” 3. Anointing with oil. James 5:14 in The Living Bible says: “Is anyone sick? He should call for the elders of the church and they should pray over him and pour a little oil upon him, calling on the Lord to heal him.” Anointing oil symbolizes the reality of the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Let’s be clear. . .the oil doesn’t heal the sick. . .it’s just a symbol and point of contact to stimulate the release of faith in God’s Word. Healing comes by faith in the Word of God. Those who believe. . .receive. . .those who doubt. . .don’t. 4. Casting out the spirit of infirmity. Another method of healing is by casting out the devil. Luke 13:11-13 says: “And there was a woman who for eighteen years had had an illness caused by a spirit (demon). She was bent double, and could not straighten up at all. 12 When Jesus saw her, He called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are released from your illness.” 13 Then He laid His hands on her; and immediately she stood erect again and she began glorifying and praising God.” Some people don’t like to hear the word “devil” and, consequently, they’ve been bound so long they don’t even think devils exist. Nonetheless, Jesus spent a third of His ministry casting out devils – spirits of deafness, blindness, infirmities, insanities, convulsions, and palsies. The devil is cast out by the authority of Jesus Christ. Some ministers major in deliverance, and they think the only way anyone can get healed is for someone to cast the devil out. That is only one of the primary ways that God heals and delivers today. It is not the only one, but in some cases casting the devil out is the way the person needs to receive his healing. I use that method as the need arises. 5. The prayer of agreement. Matthew 18:19 in the New Living Translation says: “I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you.” The enemy is terrified. . .petrified. . .horrified at the thought of two people coming into the prayer of agreement. . .because He understands the spiritual power that results from the power of two agreeing on anything. That’s why the enemy will do whatever he can to keep us from coming into the power of agreement. The enemy fears. . .that’s right he experiences fears too . . . the demon chasing and binding power of two believers who understand their authority, the potential of their agreement, and the inevitable result of that union. Every demon from hell fears the power of two. “Father, right now I bind every hindering spirit, trick, trap, lie and deception the enemy has planned for every person reading my words. I thank you the Holy Ghost is moving even as these words are being repeated in this prayer of agreement. We agree that the just-getting-by type of thinking is gone forever. We agree that healing virtue is flowing over each of us. . .from the top of our heads to the soles of our feet. In the powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Hallelujah! Amen!” 6. The prayer of binding and loosing. Matthew 18:18 in the Amplified Bible says: “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whatever you bind [forbid, declare to be improper and unlawful] on earth shall have [already] been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose [permit, declare lawful] on earth shall have [already] been loosed in heaven.” Bind the devil; bind the infirmity; bind the cancer; bind the arthritis; bind the devil. God understands what is happening in the spirit. Binding the devil is like fitting him with temporary spiritual handcuffing. You can bind a demon spirit, much like tying something up with rope or chains. You cannot bind a person's free will, but you can bind the demons affecting or influencing that person. Remember, we bind demons and evil spirits. . .like sickness but we loose captives or people in bondage. When Jesus set free the woman with the issue of blood. . .He said to her in Luke 13:12, “Woman, thou art loosed from this infirmity.” 7. Taking God’s Word as medicine. Proverbs 4:20-22 in the Amplified Bible says: “My son, pay attention to my words and be willing to learn; Open your ears to my sayings. Do not let them escape from your sight; Keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, And healing and health to all their flesh.” When you’re battling sickness the words you need to hear are from the scripture and words of faith from friends who understand the scriptures. First, ask God to forgive you of any and all sin in your life. Not all sickness is caused by sin, however, it gives the enemy access to your life, especially your thought processes. James 5:14-15 in the Amplified Bible says: “Is anyone among you sick? He should call in the church elders (the spiritual guides). And they should pray over him, anointing him with oil in the Lord's name. And the prayer [that is] of faith will save him who is sick, and the Lord will restore him; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” According to 1 John 1:9 if we ask. . .He will forgive our our sins. Second, realize that unforgiveness will prevent God from hearing or answering your prayers. Mark 11:25-26 in the Amplified Bible says: “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him and let it drop (leave it, let it go), in order that your Father Who is in heaven may also forgive you your [own] failings and shortcomings and let them drop. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your failings and shortcomings.” Third, develop your knowledge of the Word to overcome sneak attacks of the enemy. Spiritually speaking, you are feeding on the Word. . .or you’re feeding on fear and doubt. The latter two will increase the likelihood of your being sick or getting sick on a continual basis. The enemy also feeds on fear and doubt. Category: Healing and Deliverance Tags: God will choose many ways to Heal
