Qualities of A Good Priest.

Ø The chief priest must be able to deal gently with certain kinds of sinners Ø In his relationship with God, priests are supposed to be holy. And that means holy by God’s standards, not merely by the standards of other people. His nature must be perfect. Ø In his relationship with other people, priest must be without fault or blame and His character must be perfect. Ø Priest must examine his most secret thoughts and actions and must check if they are right, good, and proper by keeping his conscience perfect. Ø In order to do God’s work, a priest had to separate himself from sinners. ! When Jesus lived on Earth, Jesus lived among sinners. But he did not join in their wrong deeds. He did not do anything that is against God’s law. So, he was not a sinner. ! Priest had to enter the most holy place in God’s house to carry out his most sacred duties in front of God ! He should be the Respect for other people ! His life should reflect Personal relationship with God, our Savior Jesus Christ evidenced by prayer ! His interest should be serving people and ability to work with others. ! He should perform the works of mercy such as feeding the hungry, caring for the poor, visiting the sick, striving for justice. ! Therefore, the priests being a servant of God be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. They need to Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace. When they speak, they need to speak the oracles of God. They need to serve by the strength that God supplies in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. ! The true Priest provide a witness to an unbelieving world by his behavior both personally and publicly. we are all brothers and sisters in Christ and we need to act like it, welcoming and loving each other as Christ loves us.
