Religious and lost!

By: Shaila T | April 04, 2017 Many people think that just by going and belonging to some church ,by mere confession of Jesus Christ as their saviour is enough , being a good person, doing religious things, etc are saved and is enough to get to heaven . Bible does not teach that those who profess Christianity and return to their sinful ways are still ‘guaranteed heaven’. The Bible repeatedly said that “the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God. “The one example we see is Judas , even though he was a follower of Christ and he was fallen from grace. “You have fallen from grace’’ (Gal 5:4). In John 3:1-7, Nicodemus, a religious leader of the Jews, was lost in his sins without Christ. In later stage Nicodemus became a believer and was one of the disciples who later prepared the body of Jesus and buried him in the tomb. Mathew 7:21-23 reminds us that Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness Many people claim to "believe in Jesus" or to "love Jesus Christ without obeying His commands are saved but they ignore the scripture John 14:21 says Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him. No one is going to fool God on Judgment Day. God will judge every man, individually, according to his work. 1st Peter 1:16 says “Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear.” Conclusion : So let’s have a purpose in our heart to live right (Daniel 1:8), obey gods commandments, read scriptures that we might not sin against God (Psalm 119:11), pray that we enter not into temptation (Matthew 26:41)and put on the whole armour of God (Ephesians 6:13-18) and cover ourselves with the precious Blood of Jesus Christ so that we walk holy, righteous and blameless before God by forsaking our sins Category: General Christian Articles Tags: Religious and lost
