Unconfessed sins, doubt wavering hindrances to healing.

By: Shaila Touchton | April 12, 2017 The word “doubt” means to “try to stand in two ways at once; to waver.” The Scriptures tell us that it is a robber of God’s blessing. Look at James 1:6-7 “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. When we refuse to waver, there is sufficient power to move mountains. Mark 11:23. “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. How do we maintain our position of faith in spite of contrary circumstances and situations? Look at Abraham and Sarah. “And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.” (Romans 4:19-21) As we choose to praise God before the manifestation of the promise it helps us to maintain our position of faith until our minds are “fully convinced (persuaded).” The Greek word means to “consider the conflicting arguments and come to a firm decision or verdict that is a belief beyond a shadow of a doubt.” The sin of unforgiveness is one of the most common hindrances to receiving healing. As you will see in the following Scripture verse – “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that you Father in heaven may also forgive your tresspasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.” (Mark 11:25) Do you realize that the Father will not even begin to hear your prayers if you are holding any unforgiveness towards anyone. And if He will not hear your prayers – then you have no chance on getting a healing from Him. This particular sin is one that God really distains. The fact that He specifically isolates this sin in reference to your prayer life in the following Scripture verse is showing the extreme importance of it and that He does not want you holding any unforgiveness towards anyone else – no matter how bad that person may have wronged you in your past. I believe that the four key words in the above verse are “whenever you stand praying.” This covers every type of request or petition. So if you really serious about wanting to approach God the Father for a healing, the first thing you must do is make sure you do not have any sins that may need to be forgiven and washed clean under the Blood of Jesus. You may want to ask the Holy Spirit to help you out. Ask Him to show you if there any sins that you may not be aware of that need to be confessed, forgiven and washed clean. If you are willing to go this far with the Lord – then you may have just removed any major blocks or hindrances in being able to receive a healing from the Lord. You have just dramatically increased your chances of now being able to receive a healing from God. Here are just a few verses that support this ideal… “But your iniquities have separated you from Your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.” (Isaiah 59:2) “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.” (Psalm 84:11) “And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.” (1 John 3:22) “My son, do not forget My law, but let your heart keep My commands; for length of days and long life and peace they will add to you.” (Proverbs 3:1) “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.” (Exodus 15:26) I believe all of those verses are giving us major insight as to why sometimes we are not getting answers to our prayers – especially in the area of divine healing. There is simply no sugarcoating what these verses are trying to tell us. Even though all of our past, present and future sins will be forgiven under the blood of Jesus – we still have to make every concerted effort to stay out of sin and once we know that we have fallen into a specific sin – then we have to recognize it, confess it out before God the Father before we can receive His forgiveness for it. I believe that one of the most common reasons people fail to receive healings is sins that may not have been forgiven, because they either have not been recognized as actual sins or that person is unwilling to have it properly dealt with by God the Father. That person may be operating in the sin of adultery, lust, pride, etc and he simply doesn’t want to give it up. Until He does – there is a very good chance that God will not hear any of his prayers – especially in the area of divine healing. That is why I strongly recommend that anyone who is seeking after a major supernatural miracle form God in the area of divine healing – that you ask the Holy Spirit to help you to discern if there is sin that needs to be confessed and forgiven with God the Father. This principle right here may be the difference as to whether or not you receive a healing from God. God wants to heal the total person, not just fix a part here or there. Sometimes people have to resolve some issues in their life before the healing will manifest; otherwise they will not learn to stop or avoid the things that got them into trouble in the first place. God wants every one of his children to keep their peace and joy. Category: Healing and Deliverance Tags: Unconfessed sins, doubt wavering hindrances to healing
